A Husband's Prayer

Handing down a legacy. Pat Moyer has gifted me with her patterns, books, and wool. She did this to carry on her legacy as a teacher. From one teacher to the new generation. As I go through her stash, I found this poem and want to share it.

A Husband's Prayer

by Pat Moyer

Dear Lord, won't you listen to poor humble me

as I've got a problem as you can see.

My wife is a hooker and that's bad enough

but she steals all my clothes and that's pretty

tough.

She say's my green pants made a beautiful tree

and there went my shirt right into her sea.

It wasn't long till I lost my coat

and all she would say was, "it made a nice boat".

Sometimes I think she's just downright perverse

so if you could make her hook in reverse,

Then back would come all my woolly, warm

things

and all she'd have left is a handful of strings.
