Join Anita for an introduction to rug hooking class and discover a new hobby! Rug hooking is essentially a stress-free art form. It's similar to coloring, but instead of crayons, we'll be using beautiful wool! Anita will walk you through the basics of primitive rug hooking, including equipment, supplies, and techniques. Following that, students will dive right into the fun of hooking the pattern "Moody." You will be shown everything you need to know to hook and finish this pattern in this 3-session Zoom class.
Anita will go over when and how to use rug hooking equipment and supplies, as well as the differences between wide-cut or primitive-style projects and narrow or fine-cut projects. Then, using pre-cut #8 or #7 wool strips, students will be guided through the basic techniques as they pull up their first loops on their pattern. Anita will talk about cutters and different cut sizes, as well as demonstrate the finishing process. Everything learned will be useful in future projects!
After taking this class, you'll be ready to tackle a new project with confidence and are welcome to enroll in an intermediate Shading for Beginners future Zoom class.
